In the Footsteps of Our Memories

Jennifer and I had a blast being featured painters at the Autry Museum of the American West's 35th Anniversary Plein Air Paint Out and Luncheon held at Franklin Canyon Park above Beverly Hills California. We had never been to FCP. However, it felt like we had. We have seen so many images throughout our lives that were captured in this very space. The idea of painting on the grounds Andy Griffith and Opie walked after fishing, or imagining the Creature from the Black Lagoon randomly popping it's head up out of the murky waters to give us a surprise was simply beyond words. I found myself randomly humming Simon and Garfunkel song throughout the day as I painted. It truly was a time capsule back to our youth as we stood in the present. The grouping of a fantastic location (with all of the embedded memories associated with it) along with an amazing organization and the wealth of talented artists made this an event to remember! Thanks again for having us. We were honored.
